Online Activities
These last 40 days I cut way back on my online activities, to free up tome time for reflection and to make space for priorities in the mundane world. That restored a balance to my life, and I was able to interact with my face-to-face friends in a very satisfying way. I’ll be blogging again, and commenting on my friends’ blogs, but I won’t spend much time on the message board.

Stuff
One of my friends asked if having 900 DVDs was an indication that he is materialistic. This was my response.
Here is a test to see if you are materialistic. Do you own stuff or does stuff own you? Regardless of how much you paid for it, how important is it to you? Could you walk away from it if you were called to do so? Would you look back? How much time to you spend taking care of your stuff?
Dude! I've got a lot more material than you! You've got 900 DVS, but we have over 4000 books in my household and half of those are mine! I am surely one of the reasons that Amazon.com is making money hand over fist. A lot of them are fat technical books that cost new from two to six times more than a new DVD, and books take up more volume than DVS's. I've been thinking that I need to prune my library hard, 'cause it's hard to follow Jesus when you've got stuff dragging behind you.
